AVIF is one of the newest image formats. It is based on the AV1 video codec and makes photos smaller than JPG or WebP at the same quality, so more websites and phones now use it. Plenty of apps still cannot open .avif files. This converter uses your browser's built-in AVIF support to decode each image and save it as a JPG that works everywhere.
Expect the JPG to be larger than the AVIF. That is normal: AVIF compresses far more efficiently, and you are trading some size for a file every program can open.
Images are saved at JPG quality 92 out of 100, so they look like the original AVIF.
Nothing is resized or cropped. The JPG has the exact pixel dimensions of the AVIF.
AVIF can be transparent but JPG cannot, so transparent areas are filled with white. Convert to PNG instead if you need to keep them.
Convert many AVIF files at once and download them together as a ZIP.
AVIF support is still patchy outside browsers. JPG has none of those gaps.
Older photo viewers, editors and office programs that cannot read AVIF all read JPG.
Most upload forms list JPG and PNG only. A JPG copy is accepted everywhere.
Print services and photo kiosks expect JPG, not AVIF.
Your browser does the decoding and encoding. Nothing is uploaded.

No watermark and no limit on the number of images.
