What is a CSV to JSON converter?
CSV is easy to export from spreadsheets and databases, but most web code works with JSON. A CSV to JSON converter reads each row, pairs it with the column headings from the first line and outputs a JSON array of objects that you can paste into code or load from an API mock.
The output is pretty-printed with two-space indentation, so it is easy to read and diff.
Typed values
Plain numbers become JSON numbers and true or false become booleans. Values with leading zeros, such as zip codes, stay as strings.
Empty cells become null
Blank fields are written as null so every object has the same keys.
Clean headings
Duplicate headings are renamed (name, name_2) and empty headings become column_1, column_2 and so on.
Delimiter auto-detection
Commas, semicolons, tabs and pipes are recognised, and quoted fields with line breaks are parsed correctly.
